We are delighted to welcome, all the way from Lancashire, those fabulous purveyors of folk rock, The Mather Robinson Band, back for their third visit to Poppleton.

 

Despite being based on the wrong side of the Pennines, these are four lovely guys – great vocals and harmonies accompanied by mandolin, acoustic guitar, acoustic fretless bass, flutes & whistles.

 

They sing exciting, original, wide-ranging material, from contemporary political commentaries and memorable anthems to ‘traditional-ish’ love songs.

 

Onstage, the band’s wealth of experience shines through. They engage and delight their audiences with relaxed storytelling and wry good humour, before unveiling a stunning succession of self-penned songs that dance in the ear and live long in the memory.
