"A welcome blast

of  originality

in our

serious world

If you came to our last Poppleton Live Festival, then you will remember The Mather Robinson Band. It's taken a lot of attempts and a few years to finally get our diaries aligned, so we are absolutely delighted that we've finally got them booked.

Dave Mather and Pete Robinson are lifelong friends. Having grown up together in the swinging sixties their musical influences are pretty common and fairly obvious. The Beatles, The Stones and, of course, Donny Osmond!

Their musical partnership is almost as long. Back in the 1970's they were co-founders of the northern folk comedy outfit, Cracked Flag and remain members even today. They have performed in many a stage musical (Pete even wrote one of his own) and still appear from time to time in the Beatles tribute band 'Anthology'.

Together with the hugely gifted Anthony Quinn, one of the very best flute and whistle players in the country, and Chris Mather, a massive talent, who, like his Dad, is completely at home with just about any stringed instrument.
